what a view...

i seem to be doing pretty good lately in regards to checking items off my summer list. earlier this week, we set out for a 10km hike (ok, paved trail), leading to the southernmost point of the city (i believe), which gives you great views; the leslie street spit (real name: tommy thompson park). the walk to the tip seemed to take quite a while, but then again, we were stopping for pictures, and just generally enjoying the scenery. the walk back, we motored it, and i would say the 10km round trip took about 2.5-3hours. one last thing to note: this was a pristine walk, there wasn't so much as a gum wrapper the whole way. which kind of amazed me since there also wasn't a single garbage can. way to go, toronto. keeping parks clean!
not a good start to the walk! luckily, we did not see any.

at this point here, there were hundreds of dragonflies flying around. it was pretty crazy to see.
first view of the city along the way.

a little break on the rocks by the water.

the blue dot, that's us! we made it to the tip!
the view you're rewarded with. i can see where we live from here ;)

i only wish there were more trees along the way, instead of mostly plants and flowers; that would have made it a beautiful walk in the fall.

so pretty! I love long walks that bring you to a point where you can see an amazing view like that! It's a flat land version of a mountain top :)
